On Thursday, I enjoyed the NIKOLAKI red carpet collection at the Vanidades Presents Magia de la Moda (The Magic of Fashion)”which showcases top Latino designers. Los Angeles based fashion brand Nikolaki, whose designer Nick Verreros starred on the second season of reality show “Project Runway, dazzled the crowd when he arrived on the red carpet himself!

On Friday, I was excited for the Miami Red Dress Fashion Show by American Heart Association which celebrates fashion, philanthropy and culture all in the name of heart health. This annual event spreads awareness about heart diseases and stroke, the No. 1 and No. 4 killers of Americans during Funkshion’s Fall Fashion Week Miami Beach. As an iconic symbol of this movement, the red dress helps take the message further in an inspirational and artistically visual manner. Nationally, the color red is promoted to further establish the American Heart Association as the leading authority on heart health.
