Miami Culinary Tours was the brainchild of Grace Della. Grace says.. “The idea of offering culinary tours came to me about 10 years ago when I first mentioned it to my mother. My mom loves to cook, loves food and learning about different cultures just as much as I do.”
So off I went on a lazy {and blazing} Saturday afternoon to see and taste what the highly respected website tripadvisor states is the “#2 thing to do while in Miami”. I was greeted at the Anglers Hotel on Washington Ave by our host, Richy Marchosky. He was affable and informative. This walking tour of South Beach was enhanced by Richy pointing out Art Deco buildings history and insider facts as we strolled. We made stops at Anglers hotel, where we had delicious scallop ceviche . Bolivar restaurant where the empanada Colombiana and pulled pork was great, but the colombian beer and cream soda cocktail was the highlight. Our stop at Miami Beach’s iconic Davids Cafe was a treat. The cuban coffee was hot and the Presidente beer cold. We moved on to great empanadas at Charlotte Bakery. Next up were the unique italian offerings at Blocks Pizza. We had their Sundried Hippie Block Pocket {think paper thin pita}. Richy fed our sweet tooth up at Jerry’s deli on Collins Avenue with some Rasberry Rugalah .Our almost 3 hour tour terminated on beautiful Espanola Way. Milani Gelataria is where I had the best most decadent vanilla gelato ever….I rate this tour a must for those interested in a food and history tour combined into one..bring comfy shoes and an empty stomach. Here is my photo recap of my delicious journey. Enjoy!
