Today, I had the pleasure of attending the sneak preview of the new Yardhouse Restaurant located near Lincoln Road in South Beach. As a frequent diner at their Gulfstream Casino location, I was elated when I learned of their newest location a mere 5 blocks from my home. Per their website, http://www.yardhouse.com
The restaurant took its name from the 3-foot-tall glass containers originally designed in Great Britain and used to hand stagecoach drivers after a long journey by horse drawn carriage. Each Yard House location features a center island bar and an endless fleet of tap handles ranging from classic lagers to more obscure ales. The glass-enclosed keg room is essentially the pulse of the operation housing as much as 5,000 gallons of beer at a time. They have 124 different varieties on tap.Three to five miles of individual beer lines stretch overhead from the keg room to the island bar maintaining a constant temperature of 34-36 degrees keeping the beer consistently fresh and perfectly chilled for every pint. Guests can sip their favorite draft beer from the popular half-yard, traditional pint or six pack sampler. While Beer is their main elixir, do not overlook their food offerings. I call it gourmet bar food, but even that does not do it justice. The food is good. I sampled everything from Grilled Korean Beef tacos, Spicy Thai chicken pizza to mouth watering MAC + CHEESE 2 which is comprised of chicken breast, applewood bacon, wild mushrooms, cheddar, parmesan, campanelle pasta and truffle oil..yummy yummy yummy. Never been ? Get there. They open this Thursday Feb 27.
