This Monday I was invited to an Acura exclusive VIP experience at Seasons 52 Restaurant in Coral Gables to test drive their all new 2014 Acura RLX Hybrid. This event was part of Acura’s ‘Driven by Passion’ National Tour, a ride and drive series that seeks to introduce local influencers to popular established local eateries, arts & festivals, and local charities.

Acura, a proud sponsor of the Spring Garden Festival at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, which took place in Miami on April 12&13, as well as being a strong supporter of Global Bridges (a worldwide science-based initiative to help healthcare providers unite to treat tobacco dependence while advocating for effective tobacco control policies). Funds raised at these local events will be donated to Global Bridges’ local chapter.

I enjoyed complimentary cocktails and delicious appetizers after my test drive of this amazing vehicle. The car is spacious, morgue quiet and Hulk powerful. 0-60 in 5.5 sec. Useful on the 836W on ramp. A wolf in wolf’s clothing. The RLX has too many blade runner-esque features to list here. I was most impressed with the Reactive Force Pedal gesture. It’s a futuristic system that modifies pedal feedback to help the driver use the proper amount of engine power for the conditions. In the snow, for instance, it will provide more resistance to mildly dissuade your right foot from asking the tires to do too much. Amazing. For the car buffs, here are the basics:

Engine:3.5L V6 + 3 electric motors Power:377 HP / 377 LB-FT Transmission:7-Speed DCT Drivetrain:AWD Curb Weight:4,312 LBS Seating:2+3 Cargo:12.0 CU-FT MPG:28 City / 32 HWY

In the market for a new luxury car that stands out ? Do yourself a favor and get the Acura RLX Hybrid. For more information visit http://www.acura.com/modellanding.aspx?model=rlx
