On Saturday, May 17, 2014, I hosted a bachelorette party in Baltimore for one of my oldest and dearest friends! Why Baltimore? Because it’s our hometown. It’s where we first started on our journey in our friendship and where many of our friends and family still reside. I wanted to do something special for her since she has honored me to be in her wedding. There’s a popular saying for bride to be’s final night out as a single woman called “last ride for the bride” but I renamed the theme of our evening to “#Ride4theBride” as an expression of our loyalty to her. This was a celebration for the everlasting love we wish upon the bride and her upcoming nuptials in Savannah, GA.

So I began with a writing campaign to ask venues to assist me in coordinating the night of fun. Why did I write venues? Because as a stay at home mom, and a blogger, my income is limited and I wanted the opportunity to market and promote some of Baltimore’s favorite places to hold events. Myself and the bride’s posse saddled up for a bar crawl to some spots within the Power Plant Live! , Baltimore’s premier dining and entertainment destination. Power Plant Live! is a collection of bars, clubs, and other businesses in the Inner Harbor section of downtown Baltimore, Maryland ( http://www.powerplantlive.com ). Think of it as an adult amusement park! I had planned for us to have a Cowgirl Cute/ Sexy Wild Wild West night out. I pre-ordered various western themed items like cowboy boots shot glasses and pink bandanas to include in the hi-ho silver gift bags !

We started out at PBR Baltimore (www.pbrbaltimore.com), whose mechanical bull fit right in with the theme. It was the perfect choice and we had a blast. The bachelorette was dressed in a cowboy hat with a veil and thus the hash tag was put into effect …#Ride4theBride! Every Saturday, PBR hosts a Girls Night Out from 8-10pm which includes free cover and drink specials. Sarah Jensen, the sales manager was at the PBR VIP line to check in our party. Here is what girls night out included: 8:00-9:00pm -Waived cover, complimentary champagne and mimosas 9:00-10:00pm -Waived cover, $3 champagne, $3 wine and $4 rail mixed drinks. We also received FREE PARKING at the Pier V garage which is good THURSDAY, FRIDAY & SATURDAY (arrive between 7-10pm). Free validations were available at the host stand at Leinenkugel’s Beer Garden through the entrance of Power Plant Live!

After we tackled the bull, it was time to get some vittles. Kim Baulsir, the Sales Manager at Mex Tequila Bar (www.mexbaltimore.com) was most helpful in aiding me with setting up some details for my friends bachelorette party. Mex Tequila Bar offers a cool, eclectic hangout with great Mexican food, a lively atmosphere and disarmingly good margaritas. I made arrangements to arrive there by 9:30 as the kitchen closes at ten pm.
We were booked for a reservation in 1/2 of the VIP Lounge which was a good size for our group of 7. Some of us ordered delicious appetizers/food and from 10-1am MEX offered us a package called a “Bachelorette Blowout”, which allowed drink specials for everyone and where the bride can drink free!
I highly recommend Mex Tequilla Bar for any party because the DJ and crowd was great, they have a “shot” chair, a pole to dance on and a great staff. One thing four of us got to enjoy with the Bride to Be was the shot ski. I won’t go into details, except to say it added to a memorable fun night !

We ended our #Ride4theBride dancing at Luckie’s Tavern, Luckie’s Liquors (www.luckiestavern.com) . We were given the option to bounce around with wristbands as part of a package called – The Power Plant Live! Bar Crawl! Every member of our party received a FREE wrist band that entitled us to FREE cover ALL night at certain places. Although I contacted each place seperately, that is not necessary. Power Plant Live! has wonderful staff to assist with any of your needs. Any questions you may have, first contact is Kendall Gray, Sales Manager at Power Plant Live!, email kendall@powerplantlive.com .

A Big Thank you to all who helped me celebrate the Bachelorette ! This was a fun experience for all who gathered to enjoy her and her new life as a lawfully wedded wife! A special thank you to Carla Freeman, who was our photographer for the evening. I had the idea to ask her to join us to be paparazzi..well Mamarazzi for the night to relieve me from doing everything as a hostess.
I think this picture (photobomber and all) sums up the blast that we 7 ladies had!

Been a lot of places, done a lot of things, but PBR’s mechanical bull was the most fun I’ve ever had…to watch others and to ride myself! The Power Plant is a very lively and friendly place to party! Thanks for the contact names to reach out to for my next special event at the Inner Harbor.
