The family and I recently had a overnight stay at the Ocean Manor Resort on Ft Lauderdale Beach.http://oceanmanor.com/
This resort is in the midst of a multi million dollar renovation. It is the only hotel in Ft Lauderdale with a Tiki Hut Bar directly on the beach. They also have full cabana rentals out back with flatscreen TV’s in each cabana to catch your favorite game there on Sundays. Their airy lobby has a relaxed feel and also a coffee bar for whatever snacks or drinks you may need during your stay here. Their location on the beach affords gorgeous ocean views from your balcony. Matter of fact, their location is so spectacular that Nickelodeon Network was filming a program from the pool deck with the Atlantic Ocean as the backdrop. We stayed in one of their recently renovated Signature Rooms. New tiled floors and modern amenities awaited us in our room. Bathroom was also renovated with new glass enclosure. The free WiFi was great, as I had to finish up some work on my laptop. The Flat screen TV with expanded cable offerings kept our 3 yr old busy watching her cartoons. The room also had a Ipod docking speaker station for tunes. We got a tour of their incredibly luxurious penthouse. It can be used for private events, receptions or just because. Make sure when making a reservation you ask for an upgrade to one of their signature rooms.

We were hungry so we headed down to their in-house Asian fusion restaurant called Tokyo Blue. http://tokyoblueonthebeach.com
They have inventive sushi and Asian dishes on the menu, BUT it was Wednesday so that only means one thing. ALL.YOU.CAN.EAT.LOBSTER. For $49.99 you can indulge in your own New England fantasy. You start off with either a salad or Lobster bisque. Then the fun begins. Plate after plate of succulent fresh mouth watering lobsters at your beck and call. Finish your first plate or the second or third and another one will be out shortly. Steamed to perfection. The kitchen has already done the hard work of shelling it so all you need to do is use your fork. Melted butter and baked potato also are present. Dip, eat and repeat. Our waiter Derrick was outstanding and very knowledgeable. Make sure you ask for his section when you go. We ended out meal on a high note with the molten lava cake.

Later in the evening the restaurant bar area had a DJ and the dance floor was jumping. Great place to come for some late night fun. The house was packed with a great group of people there to have a good time.

Next time in Ft Lauderdale beach make sure you check out AND check into the Ocean Manor Resort. Come hungry because Tokyo Blue awaits you also.
