On Monday November 3 at 11:30am-2pm at Joe’s Stone Crab, 11 Washington Avenue Miami Beach, more than 300 guests attended Foster Care Review‘s annual fundraising event. It was called Claws for Kids. It was a fun relaxed atmosphere and featured exceptional food that only Joe’s Stone Crab can provide! The event began with a wine reception, along with great networking and the chance to win fabulous raffle items. Most importantly, those who attended helped to ensure the safety, well-being and long-term success of abused and neglected children in our community.
Top Miami civic and community leaders were in attendance, such as the Honorable William Gladstone, Honorable Cindy S. Lederman, Honorable Alan Fine, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Sally Heyman, Honorable Mari Sampedro-Iglesia, State Representative David Richardson, Mayor Zavier Garcia of the City of Miami Springs and many more.
“The revenue raised through Claws for Kids is Florida Foster Care Review’s most important source of unrestricted funds,” said Candice L. Maze, Florida Foster Care Review’s Executive Director. “Our goal is to leverage our 25 years of organizational expertise to tackle some of the most pressing problems facing abused and neglected children in our community. This event allows us to launch new initiatives and to broaden our advocacy efforts on behalf of all children in our child welfare system,” Candice added.
