A new movement is underway. On Saturday, November 9, JBL held its ‘Dare to Listen’ launch event series at the Gale Hotel in Miami Beach celebrating the brand’s new Synchros line and S700 headphones. The event soundtrack was provided by Sirius Radio regular DJ Wonder and celebrity favorite DJ Ross One. Guests mingled, sipped cocktails and dined on hors d’oeuvres while dancing around in the infamous Rec Room in the Gale Hotel.
JBL reinvented the traditional gifting experience by fusing a daytime party with a premium gifting opportunity and education experience! This invite only event catered to a set of handpicked sound and music enthusiasts. A separate gifting lounge was available exclusively to VIP guests, where we had the opportunity to try the new JBL Synchros S700 headphones and bring a new pair home. Members of the JBL team was on-site in the gifting suite to provide VIP guests with a first-hand opportunity to learn why the JBL Synchros headphones are set to revolutionize the sound experience.

“There is no better test for an audiophile product than to put it into the hands of musicians and tastemakers who appreciate quality sound, and we know the JBL Synchros S700 headphones will surpass all their expectations,” said Ralph Santana, HARMAN’s Chief Marketing Officer. “The JBL brand promise is to recreate music as the artist intended, and these events allow us to genuinely connect with the influencers who truly value our product and brand ethos. We have no doubt that the JBL Synchros lineup will be a game-changing experience for the listener.”

Modeled after JBL’s famed professional audio systems, the JBL Synchros S700 headphones deliver dynamic sound with unmatched clarity. Featuring a die-cast aluminum frame coupled with soft, leather ear cushions, the JBL Synchros S700 headphones will be available in two colors: Onyx and Glacier. The epitome of a luxury sound experience, additional features include: a rechargeable battery; proprietary LiveStage™ signal processing for an increased soundstage and room-like experience; a detachable cable design with iOS® three-button remote/microphone cable and universal three-button remote/microphone cable.

The launch tour started in LA, then Miami, FL and ends in NY. Guests in all three markets will be encouraged to post to their own social media channels and tag/follow JBL’s various accounts on Instagram (@jblaudio), Twitter (@JBLaudio) and Facebook (facebook.com/JBL). During each event, guests should also use the series’ official hashtag, #DARETOLISTEN and the headphones’ hashtag #JBLSynchros to join the conversation.

#BAGrubCrawl Good Food, Good Drinks, Good Times! Recap by #SobeSavvy

image1

Many of us have heard of a pub crawl, but have you ever heard of a “grub” crawl? Instead of moving from bar to bar, participants move from restaurant to restaurant. On Saturday, November 2nd, Bon Appétit Magazine brought us Grub Crawl, the acclaimed on-the-move food and spirits tour, to Miami Beach!

The concept behind the food crawl came about when Bon Appétit realized an important element of the food festivals was missing – the actual restaurant.

“So much of going to the restaurant is the ambience, the atmosphere, the lighting, the music, the look, the waiters, and all of that is never present at a food festival,” said Adam Rapoport, editor-in-chief of Bon Appétit. “So we thought why not bring the food festival to the restaurant?”

The nighttime portion of the movable food festival took guests to several of Miami Beaches’s most notable restaurants including Juvia, Lorenzo, Bianca at the Delano, Pubbelly and Dolce in Rec Room at the Gale Hotel. During our time at the restaurant, crawlers were able to try signature dishes and drinks and interact with the chefs.

The Miami Grub Crawl was the final event in a series of five, preceded by Crawls in Los Angeles, Charleston, Chicago, and New York City. When deciding on cities, the Bon Appétit looked for locations with thriving restaurant scenes and popular dining neighborhoods, which is why they were drawn to the Design District for the daytime crawl and South Beach for the nighttime crawl.

This was an amazing opportunity to be part of Bon Appétit’s first Miami Grub Crawl! I recommend a grub crawl for anyone who enjoys good food, good drinks, and good times! For more information on Grub Crawl, go to http://www.grubcrawl.com.

Here is my photo recap of my delicious journey. Enjoy!

Shaping Sound !Miami Tour Stop Recap June 13, 2013

I adore the art of dance! It moves me. And I am not alone. On June 13, I had the pleasure of joining other dance lovers at 8pm at the famous Colony Theater, located at 1040 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach for an unforgettable sold out performance from Shaping Sound.

Shaping Sound, the hottest new contemporary dance company in the country, was formed by Emmy®-nominated choreographers Travis Wall, Nick Lazzarini, Teddy Forance, and dance visionary Kyle Robinson . They took the stage with ten world-class dancers to present a synergy of sight, sound and movement. The audience filled with all ages were treated to explosive choreography showcasing the dynamic rhythm, speed and physical strength of these visionaries. Company members have been featured on “So You Think You Can Dance”, “Dancing With The Stars” and toured internationally with recording artists and world-renowned dance companies.

The creation of the dance company was featured in the Oxygen original series called “All the Right Moves,” which chronicled the search for dancers and musicians to join what is now Shaping Sound. Dance Magazine says of the show, whose tour coincides with the 10th anniversary of “So You Think You Can Dance”: “Smart, sassy and super cool “!

I thoroughly agree and encourage you to see this show when it comes to a city near you!

Enjoy these pictures from the Thursday night, 8pm show in Miami!

Venus Step Up & Out ! Miami Tour Stop June 11, 2013

I attended my first free glam event with my daughter Ava (www.outandaboutAva.blogspot.com , #outandaboutAva) and it was so much fun!

The event was held at the 1111 Lincoln Rd building on the 7th floor, which offers panoramic views of South Beach. Upon arrival, we were greeted and offered a chance to Step Up and take the spotlight!

The best part? For every woman who took part, a donation was made to Step Up Women’s Network,a national, nonprofit membership organization dedicated to connecting and advancing women and girls. ( http://www.suwn.org)

First, I was shown a rack of gorgeous dresses from Rent the Runway (http://www.renttherunway.com/), a membership-based website that rents high-end designer apparel and accessories on a 4- or 8-day basis.  I selected a flirty Shoshanna white eyelet dress (http://www.renttherunway.com/shop/designers/shoshanna_dresses/meantbedress) because it complimented my daughter’s white eyelet/blue floral dress!

Next, we got glammed up with shoes and accessories. My daughter loved the necklace that was chosen for her and I was happy that there was an assortment of clip on earring options as I do not have pierced ears. A beauty bar was available to touch up hair & makeup before walking the Venus Blue Carpet for the paparazzi.

Finally, it was time to Step Up and Step Out! We were briefly interviewed before a fashion photographer captured our Mommy and Me Goddess moment. Ava said “Hola” to everyone (very apropo for Miami )  then proceeded to walk, then run on the blue carpet ! She heard “runway” and thought she was supposed to run away! LOL. All attendees received a swag bag with a choice of  three different Gillette Venus razors.

We both enjoyed strutting our stuff for charity and encourage you to #StepUp to the conversation. Tweet with the #StepUp hashtag even if you did not attend the event, and Gillette will donate $1 to the Step Up Women’s Network. Follow @GilletteVenus or check them out atwww.twitter.com/gillettevenus.

Hope you enjoy these pictures from the event !
