Happy Wednesday! Last week this time I was in NYC for a business/pleasure trip celebrating Carnival Cruise Line’s newest ship, Carnival Horizon. [ICYMI, read about the naming ceremony event and get a first look>>here.] When I first received the invite I thought to myself… What am I going to wear? So for today’s “What I Wore Wednesday” post, I am sharing and showcasing the answer to my question. I wore a beautiful dress from eShakti.

SHOP THE LOOK: Dress, Sunglasses, Shoes, similar here, Necklace, similar here and Red Lipstick ๐Ÿ’‹of course!

eShakti is an online clothing store that will deliver unique clothes for women right to your door! Many have raved about this brand because they give you the opportunity to customize clothes to your exact size, height and your preferred style. I’ll admit when it comes to online shopping, especially for dresses, I enjoy going to the store and trying things on first. What I enjoyed about eShakti is that I can design the neckline, sleeve or length of the dress plus flaunt it with or without pockets! For the record, I am Team #pocketdress.

Not only am I a fan of pocketdresses, but I am a fan of themes, so with it being a cruise related event that I was attending and Fleet Week in NYC, I chose to be nautical but nice with eShakti‘s Anchor Embellished Stripe Cotton Knit Blouson Dress. I decided to play up the pop of red color in the anchor with accessories. I already had a pair of Guess red heels that went perfectly. But know that this Mom always has a back up pair of shoes if the occassion calls for it. For the press conference and tour of Carnival Horizon, I switched to a black sandal. This dress is not only comfortable but versatile. You can dress it up or make this into a casual look.

Nautical stripes are synonymous with Spring/Summer style but what I enjoyed about this dress is that it was not the typical blue and white theme but a black/white/red color scheme. This blouson dress tailored with demure dolman sleeves in stripe cotton knit with an embellished anchor and playful cord combined comfort + cute in a chic way!

However, If you want a blue/white nautical dress, eShakti‘s Nautical Print Georgette Dress is another beautiful choice. In fact they have a variety of dresses that will suit anybody and ANY BODY. eShakti is the only brand in the world that offers size 0-36W & Custom Size!

#Travel | My Top 5 Must See Features On @CarnivalCruise Line’s Newest Ship, #CarnivalHorizon #ChooseFun

Have you heard the news about the new ship from Carnival Cruise? Yes, the Carnival Horizon is making it’s debut as Carnival Cruise Line’s 26th ship! This 3,960-passenger ship is so far the biggest of them all and has so much fun for everyone to enjoy! I am so excited to announce that I will be attending the ship’s official naming ceremony and pierside overnight event in New York City this month!

I am looking forward to seeing Carnival Horizon’s Godmother, Grammy award winning artist and actress Queen Latifah perform in a celebrity Lip Sync Battle, as well as the variety of innovations aboard this ship! There are so many new and amazing features on this ship that I have read about thus far, but here’s my list of the ones that I can not wait to see and experience once aboard the ship!

My Top 5 Must See Features On Carnival Cruise Line’s Newest Ship, Carnival Horizon

1. THE ELEVATORS

I know you are wondering what in the world is so great about the elevators? Iโ€™ll tell you right now. They’re special Schindler port elevators with no buttons. All guests waiting to get on use a touch pad to choose what floor they are going to. Afterwards each guest is electronically assigned an elevator car that whisks you to your floor ONLY with guests stopping in proximity. So for instance if you and another guest are going to decks 4 and 5 and 2 other folks are going to decks 8/9 the computer will place you all in the quickest elevators only with those going to the same stops. You will have the shortest trip times and stops! Saves times and less of that awkward elevator silence.

2. DR. SEUSS WATERWORKS

Taking my daughter on a cruise is something I look forward to very soon and with the expanded Dr. Seuss WaterWorks play area, I am assured of lots of smiles. This is the first expanded shipboard Dr. Seuss-themed Water Works water park. Besides occasional roaming characters they have colorful statues of Cat in the Hat the Thing 1 and Thing 2 who also get their names on twisting water slides. A giant red and white striped water dumping bucket is also shaped like the Catโ€™s hat.

3. Guy Fieri’s PIG & ANCHOR Bar-B Que Smokehouse and Brewhouse

Beer and Barbeque go together in a great way. Carnival has introduced celebrity chef Guy Fieriโ€™s restaurant and brewery named Guyโ€™s Pig & Anchor Bar-B Que Smokehouse and Brewhouse. 4 craft beers are made in the worlds only onboard full brewery. Four types of beer are brewed and the meats are smoked over hickory and apple wood to give it that amazing flavor.

4. HAVANA SUITES

While I donโ€™t mind a crowd, sometimes you just want a smaller crowd! Enter the new category of suites called โ€œHavana Suitesโ€. These are oversized suites that are in their own section of the Horizon. Guests who stay here get access to their own Havana pool and bar area that is off limits until 7pm for any other guests who are staying in these suites. This alone makes a little splurge worth it.

5. SKYRIDE Anyone ?

First introduced on Horizonโ€™s sister ship,The Vista, SkyRide is a bit like riding a bike โ€” youโ€™ll never forget it. But SkyRide is also completely unlike riding a bike, because when was the last time you biked around a ship, high above the deck and even higher above the sparkling blue sea? Zip safely around our two-lane suspended course in a pedal-powered go-mobile, in search of your biggest racing victory, a lower-body workoutโ€ฆ or simply the greatest view!

These Top 5 just scratch the surface on this amazing ship! I look forward to getting more information and sharing with you once aboard the ship. Stay tuned for more of Carnival Horizon + my event recap!

#SobeSavvy in #Bimini #Bahamas ! My #BiminiBliss #Daycation #Travel Recap ~ @RWBimini @abcrentalsbimini @PortEverglades Inaugural #Cruise

image

On Thursday, October 14, 2014, my family and I took one of the inaugural cruises on the Bimini Superfast Ship from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. http://rwbimini.com/bimini-superfast

They only had service from Miami prior to adding a Port Everglades cruise on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We parked the car at the garage adjacent to terminal 21 where it was docked. Check in was efficient and fast. Ship was new, clean and modern. Left on time at 9am. After breakfast and enjoying some dance music entertainment on the upper deck, we arrived at Bimini after a 2.5 hour voyage. We caught the beach club tram. Passengers have the option of staying at the beach or casino all day, but we opted to see the island instead. Since golf carts are the preferred mode of island transportation here, we planned to take one inorder to explore. There are various companies/operators that had carts lined up at the beach club. Most of these carts looked alike.. except one. It was a Rolls Royce golf cart. Imagine that. A Rolls ! It was owned by a company named ABC Cart Rentals. http://instagram.com/abcrentalsbimini or https://www.facebook.com/abcrentals.bimini. This rental was in great condition and fun to drive. After a quick tutorial on the cart, we were off to see Bimini.

We were hungry and a friend of mine in Miami advised me that her aunt owned the famous Edith’s Pizza. Off we went up Kings Highway. Edith’s Pizza is not made like the average pizza. She uses Bimini Bread as the dough. We had her famous Lobster Pizza. It was out of this world good. Set on the water, my daughter went conch shell hunting while we waited for our order. Of course we had a Kalik Beer to accompany it. Perfect lunch. Afterwards we took the Rolls Royce into Alice Town. We checked out Radio Beach and wandered around the shops in the area. We headed back to the Resorts World Resort for some fun in the pool. It was too windy for the ocean but we enjoyed a snow cone at the beach bar. Afterwards, It was time to turn over our keys to the Rolls and head back to the ship.

All in all, a wonderful day trip to the Bahamas. Bimini is a slice of paradise . Make sure you get yourself a piece.
