Celebrate #NationalTacoDay EVERYDAY @Chilis & Enjoy your choice of 3 ‘Top Shelf’ #Tacos

You’ve heard of “Taco Tuesday” ..it’s a day taco lovers rejoice and enjoy delicious tacos. Well yesterday, Tuesday October 4th was not only Taco Tuesday, but National Taco Day. In honor of this day, I dined at Chili’s to try their exciting taco creations! If you are tired of the same ground beef or chicken tacos then make your way to Chili’s and try their own line of “Top Shelf Tacos“.

They come in trio orders with citrus chili rice & black beans, sliced avocado and house pico de gallo and queso fresco. They have four types: Prime Rib {yup, you read that right!}, Spicy Shrimp, Carnitas and Ranchero Chicken. Here is a close up of my Prime Rib Taco.

You can order 3 of one or mix and match. You can not go wrong with any of these tacos. All fresh and made to order. They had our mouths watering so we wanted something good to drink to go with them. MARGARITAS! Not just any Margarita mind you but one of their premium El Nino Margaritas , hand shaken with Herradura Tequila. Tacos and Tequila are a match made in taste bud heaven and Chili’s pairing is awesome!

Isn’t it great you don’t have to wait until a National Day or Taco Tuesday to have amazing tacos ?! Next time you are in the mood, head to your nearest Chili’s and enjoy Mexico without a passport ! Viva La Chilli’s !!

A taco (/ˈtɑːkoʊ/) is a traditional Mexican dish composed of a corn or wheat tortilla folded or rolled around a filling. A taco can be made with a variety of fillings, including beef, pork, chicken, seafood, vegetables and cheese, allowing for great versatility and variety. A taco is generally eaten without utensils and is often accompanied by garnishes such as salsa, avocado or guacamole, cilantro, tomatoes, minced meat, onions and lettuce.

Check. Naked Taco restaurant http://nakedtacomiami.com/ which occupies a spot in the Dream Hotel succeeds at the above taco definition. And oh so much more. Think Tequilla flights..Think Duck filled tacos. The Naked part is due to the fact that some of the uber weight conscious South Beach denziens frown upon carbs, so Naked Taco can serve them sans the tortilla or taco shells if a guest is so inclined. I am not one of those. I judge a taco place first and foremost by their guacomole. If it does not knock my socks off, I leave before ordering anything else that might dissapoint. After tasting their guac, I ordered my dishes barefoot. Delicious. I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Ralph Pagano. He refers to the restaurant as a Mexican Cocina. His Key West Shrimp taco and the Duck Taco are excellent. The subtle tastes and bold influences converge on these two tacos like none I have ever tasted before. They have various tequillas and inventive margarita cocktails to quench your thirst. The margaritas are only made with fresh juice. No plastic bottles of mixers here. They have specials linked to different nights of the week. Thursday Ladies night where the girls drink for free or their upcoming Cinco De Mayo weekend bash are good examples.

I will be back. With friends. Viva Naked Taco !!
