On Saturday, August 24, 2019, SobeSavvy.com joined over 35,000 people at the 10th Annual Chesapeake Crab, Wine & Beer Festival at National Harbor, MD. featuring live music, food, and “all you can taste” crab, beer and wine. Because I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD., I am a Maryland Blue Crabs lover. I like them hot,fresh,steamed & seasoned and this event by Drink.Eat.Relax serves them up just the way I like it!

If you’ve never been to the Chesapeake Crab,Wine,Beer Festival, here is what you can expect at either of the two ticketed four-hour sessions [ 11am-3pm or 5pm-9pm] :

• Summertime fun for everyone!

•Over 30 beers and wines and a few spirits.

•A souvenir BEER MUG

•ALL YOU CARE TO TASTE CRABS. Enjoy all the crabs you can handle during the four hours of the show. Both female/male crabs were served and varied in size from medium to large and will be offered at 6 crabs at a time, per person.

•Other GREAT FOOD options as well available for purchase. There are no vegetarian options available.

•A LA CARTE CRABS option will be SOLD 6 CRABS (1/2 dozen) AT A TIME PER PERSON FOR TBD (while supplies last)

•LIVE MUSIC. Enjoy fun summer sounds from area bands.

•THOUSANDS OF TABLES AND CHAIRS AND HUGE TENTS for crackin’ to your heart’s content. They even ordered enough crab paper to stretch all the way across the Harbor and back.

🌮 Tacos and Beer🍺? They go together like, well Beer and Tacos! You know the saying..if you don’t like TACOS, then I’m NACHO type!? Well all the taco and beer lovers found their tribe this past Saturday at the first annual “Tacos N Taps” held at the Booth Amphitheatre in Cary,NC. This one of a kind event gave foodies a chance to experience over 60 Craft Beers, Mezcals, Tequilas along with tasty Mexican Tacos.

SobeSavvy.com hosted a #SobeSavvygiveaway on Instagram as well as attended this fun,foodie event where guests enjoyed the following:

• Souvenir Glass for an All You Care To Taste Experience of Craft Beers, Mezcals, Tequilas, Ciders and Wine

• Taco Trucks, Taquerias and some of the best Mexican Restaurants, like Cantina 18 were featured along with all you can taste chips & salsa!

• VIP Taco & Beer Tasting session ticket holders got a chance to experience exclusive food and beverage tasting in the VIP area for the first 2 hours. Advance entry allowed guests to get a jump on lines!

• Music from the Mariachi Bands and Triangle’s hottest DJ’s kept the mood festive.

• Fun and prizes at the Pinata Playground and lots of Lawn activites and games gave guests something to do in between eating a drinking.

Tacos n Taps was a day of sunshine, great people, great food and great fun! It was super hot out but the festival event planners had a nice treat for us to cool off with…an Exotico Tequila Snowcone!

This weekend there was a whole lot to celebrate: The Kentucky Derby, Cinco de Mayo and …. Wine + Good Times at the GREAT GRAPES WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL! This ‘drink.eat.relax‘ event is held at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in the Town of Cary and as a wine lover, I have enjoyed coming to this event each year! [*ICYMI, check out my 2015/2016/2017 past event recaps of this event, here.] I must say, just like fine wine this event keeps getting better with time. These are some of my favorite moments from this year’s GREAT GRAPES WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL!

Yes, HUNDREDS of wines available from over 22 wineries to taste. Everyone gets a souvenir tasting glass to have and stroll from tent to tent and table to table, tasting and sampling the rich heritage of North Carolina vines. Did you know that all NC wine is not made from sweet muscadine? In fact there was some of everything to try from sweet to dry!

If you bought the VIP Ticket option, you not only got early entrance into the event, but also a souvenir glass & bag and access to all the show tastings. Plus you got access to the VIP area which featured specialty higher-end wine selections not available elsewhere, free water and soft drinks, and featured food tastings (served Noon – 3pm).

Wine Lovers from all around come out to the GREAT GRAPES WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL, the largest and most fun casual NC wine festival in the Triangle. I loved seeing all the matching outfits, hats and groups celebrating birthdays. Some couples even turned this festival into a wonderful day date idea!

â—Ź IT’S FAMILY FRIENDLY!

My favorite thing about this festival is that it is kid friendly. That means we can enjoy the event as a family and not worry about finding a babysitter! Kids 12 and under are FREE and they even have a dedicated area for kids to play. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the festival picnic style. Our daughter loved meeting “The Sauce Boss”, relaxing on the lawn and listening to Live Music!

Although this festival happens rain or shine, thanks to Mother Nature we had a picture perfect day! I love going to events at Booth Amphitheatre because of the scenic setting. You are surroundes by nature, gorgeous trees and a lake that you may even see ducks in!

Hi, my name is Leslie and I am a seafood lover. Considering I was born in Maryland and lived there for 23 years of my life, seafood from the Chesapeake Bay is most likely in my DNA! So when I heard about the Chesapeake Oyster & Beer Festival, I knew this was going to be a shucking good time!

It all went down on October 21, 2017 from noon-6pm at the Capitol Riverfront, next to Nationals Stadium at The Yards Park in Washington,DC . It was the perfect day..sunny skies, high 70s..for an outdoor festival filled with seafood and libations. There were over 30 wines, beers, and spirits to sample along with over 15 types of oysters. The motto of the day was SHUCK. SLURP. REPEAT..oh and watch out for the Angry Mermaid!

Chesapeake Oyster & Beer Festival DC | Oysters served Raw, Grilled, Steamed

Whether you like oysters raw, grilled, or steamed (or if you are like me and enjoy them in all ways), then this festival is for you! Some of the world’s best shuckers were there handling the 1000’s of bivalves with care at this All You Care To Taste event. If oysters are not your thing, there were food truck options, restaurant samplings and other types of seafood such as mussels, clams, shrimp and lobster*(if you were one of the lucky ones to get some).

If I had to choose one (which is a blasphemy to a seafoodie like me) the Blue Points were my favorite served raw. There was a condiment station with lemons, cocktail sauce and horseradish to add to the taste of those briny beauties. The Grilled Oysters with Goat Cheese +BBQ and Garlic +Parmesean were also amazing! I hope to recreate those at home to serve sooner than later.

Upon arrival, VIPs and General Admission guests received a Souvenir Glass to taste over 30 Beers, Spirits and Wines.  That’s right, the event is not all just beer. Included with the ticket price was access to the wine pavilion, where attendees could enjoy pairing with Champagne, Chablis, RosĂ©, Sauvignon Blanc and many more!

On Saturday April 4, 2017, SobeSavvy.com joined beer lovers at a festival that celebrates the perfect pair: BEER and BACON! The Beer and Bacon Festival is known for being the Best Bacon Bash in The Triangle. If you love bacon and enjoy beer, this fest is for you! Drink Eat Relax, organized this fun event held at Town of Cary’s Booth Ampitheatre. Mother Nature was on our side because it was a gorgeous, sunny day…perfect for an outdoor beer festival!

The Beer & Bacon Tasting Session was from Noon-6pm with a Beer Tasting Session from 2pm – 6pm. Attendees got a chance to enjoy:

  • 75 Craft Beers
  • 15 Restaurants
  • 10 Bacons From Across the US… and lots of Piggy Love

This fun event has sold out for 3 years in a row! The ALL-YOU-CARE-TO-TASTE extravaganza comes complete with the best craft beers for your tasting pleasure… and of course the food of the Gods: BACON . I tasted a gourmet bourbon bacon fresh off the grill that I really enjoyed! Each guest got a souvenir glass and boundless portions of over 75 craft beers and all live entertainment, which was a 90’s cover band. The band was great..I mean who doesn’t love the 90’s ?!

This year the festival’s event planners changed their tickets up a bit based on guest feedback and suggestions. For instance, the early BEER & BACON TASTING SESSIONreduced the amount of tickets sold by over 20%. This allowed for less lines. Also there were NO THIRD PARTY TICKET SELLERS: Living Social, Groupon or whatever your favorite coupon site did not feature any of these tickets for sale.

It was the perfect day for listening to live music, enjoying the fun foodie exhibits, playing games or just relaxing on the grass with your lawn chair or blanket while having some beer and bacon! What’s New
REDUCED TICKETS: We’ve changed our tickets up a bit this year based on guest feedback and suggestions. For the early BEER & BACON TASTING SESSION tickets we have reduced the amount of tickets sold by over 20%. This should allow for less lines!

NO THIRD PARTY TICKET SELLERS: Living Social, Groupon or whatever your favorite coupon site is will not feature any of these tickets for sale.

WHAT’S ON THE GRIDDLE…
Guests enjoy a souvenir glass plus 75+ of their favorite international beers and wines.

Beer and Bacon Tasting Session will host over 15 restaurant tasting stations (until 2pm) featuring the BEST restaurants in the Triangle. (Beer & Bacon Tasting Session food tastings included, Beer Tasting Session food is ala carte.)

2 tons of gourmet bacons will be griddled on-site (until 3pm).

The Main Stage will host live music all day.

All of this plus fun foodie exhibits and so much more!

KIDS 12 & UNDER ARE FREE. This event is not designed for children. They are welcome but you will find very little of interest to them.
