Looking for a #HappyHour to celebrate #FoodieFriday ?! @YardHouse has new #cocktails !

image

Yard House recently announced FIVE NEW HANDCRAFTED COCKTAILS to their drink menu, so I knew I had to make plans to stop in and try one or two. During a recent trip to South Beach, I caught up with a good friend over cocktails. Located off Lincoln Road, the Yard House Miami Beach location was the perfect place to meet over good food, good conversation and innovative libations. One of the NEW handcrafted cocktails that caught my eye was The Refresher. Its made with house-made citrus agave blend and fresh-pressed watermelon juice and like it’s name is truly refreshing!
image

image

Quality drinks deserve to be paired with quality food. One of the reasons I enjoy dining at Yard House is because of the variety of choices at a great price. Whether you are ordering appetizers at the bar, enjoying happy hour /late night happy hour, or having a full meal Yard House has something for everyone. Here are just some of the deliciousness I enjoyed during my recent visit:
image
If you ever wanted to elevate your macaroni and cheese experience, try the house favorite and my personal go to: Mac & Cheese made with chicken, bacon, wild mushrooms, cheddar, parmesan, truffle oil. Our waiter suggested to try it with some buffalo sauce for a customized treat.
image
Blue Crab Cakes made with fresh mango & papaya, passion fruit beurre blanc, tomato oil satisfied my seafood cravings.
image
Vampire Taco comes with a cheese crusted tortilla, carnitas, bacon chorizo, chipotle salsa, roasted garlic, cumin crema, and more. It’s a force to be reckoned with.

Cheers!

#SobeSavvy .Com Celebrates #NationalRumPunchDay with @GubbaRum! #GubbaRum #CocktailRecipes #Rum

image

2PM Sunday Afternoon in Miami. 91 Degrees and I’m thirsty. Not for water and not for wine. I want something tropical. Something tropical with a punch. Like a Rum Punch. Lucky for me, Sunday was NATIONAL RUM PUNCH DAY ! It’s celebrated every year on the 20th of September. I needed a top shelf rum. I was in the mood for a white rum. With infused flavors of coconut. I went for my all time favorite. Gubba Rum Silver.http://gubbarum.com/rum/paradise-bay-silver/ It is an artisanal rum that they describe as “wicked smooth”. I couldn’t agree more. It’s made using pure (Agricultural) Organic Cane and Organic Coconut.

My hubby and I strolled down to the bayside park to watch sailboats. Gubba Rum joined us as we sipped on a rum punch{or two} that we made using cranberry, orange and pineapple juices. The subtle coconut flavor profile of their Silver rum really makes this cocktail exceptional. Perfect drink. Perfect Place. Gubba Rum may not be the biggest name in the Rum world but they don’t seem to strive for that. But in my opinion {and it will be yours too !} they are the best.

Get a bottle now and you too can have a “vacation in a glass” with Gubba Rum.

http://www.beerandbourbon.com/cary/show-info

91 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. It’s the first day in August in the triangle. Let’s go to a festival. Not just ANY festival but the Beer Bourbon and BBQ Festival at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, Nc. Thousands showed up to enjoy the party. Samples and samples of beer and bourbon and even some free samples of BBQ were spread around the scenic acres of land. Upon entry we were greeted by a huge and very roasted whole pig being carved up to sample. It was so fresh, steam was still rising from it!

On the main stage they had a great band and also various contests like who had the biggest beer belly and which girl can drink the fastest beer with a straw!
Bean Bag throwing games were lakeside as were turtles and ducks frolicking. You could purchase BBQ throughout the venue from the famous and not so famous BBQ restaurants. All were serving up world class food to go with the world class drinks! If you missed it this year, put in in your calendar for next year !

All in all a great day for Beer, Bourbon and BBQ !

Enjoy the slide show and photos highlighting this fun event!

On Saturday April 11, 2015, Beer Lovers celebrated 10 years of the best on beer at The World Beer Festival Raleigh.

Featuring:
An Epic Beer List –  The World Beer Festival Raleigh will feature 40 North Carolina breweries, and over 250 beers to sample and enjoy.See the list of beers here.

New! Beers Made by Walking – This program invites brewers to make beer inspired by discoveries found during nature hikes and urban walks. Ingredients found during each walk are different, turning each beer into a portrait of that landscape. Sample these exciting beers only at the Raleigh World Beer Festival!

New! Belgian Bier Garden – Settle into the world of Belgian beer. Each beer served in this area has a unique story, brewing technique and profile, capturing the spirit of the most exotic beer country in the world. The Belgian Bier Garden brings together some of the finest examples of Belgian brewer’s art in one place.

NC Beer Garden – The World Beer Festival offers the best place to explore new local breweries, without having to buy a 6-pack. Sample from a collection of the best in NC beers. Take a tour of our home state’s finest brewery offerings. Revisit old favorites and discover new ones. The NC Beer Garden is its own adventure.

New! 4oz pours – Enjoy more of the beer in your glass! The World Beer Festival Raleigh will now be featuring 4-ounce tastings of each beer. This will allow attendees to better enjoy the sight, smell and taste of each beer, giving festival goers more time to savor the richness of these beers.

Reduced crowd size – Beer lovers have spoken! We are reducing the number of tickets sold to relieve crowding. With 20% less people in attendance in 2015, the World Beer Festival Raleigh offers shorter admission and beer lines. Smaller crowds also allow for more time to ask questions, chat with brewers, and enjoy the many fine beers available.

Moore Square Park located in Downtown Raleigh was the perfect setting for the festival. The weather was lovely and attendees enjoyed the live music while sampling craft and specialty beers. Be sure to follow AllAboutBeer.com to continue celebrating beer culture !
